Day 9 : Green Smoothie Challenge

Basil Grape Inflammation Buster Smoothie

So I cheated a bit on today’s smoothie.  I didn’t have any fresh basil, so I used spinach.  Pretty sure that defeated the “Inflammation buster” portion of the green smoothie as that’s what basil is good for, but at least I got my veggies in!

Basil Grape Inflamation Buster Smoothie

1 Rib of Celery
1 Cup Fresh or Frozen Grapes (green or red)
1 Handful of Fresh Basil Leaves (or mint or parsley)
½ Cup of Water

Instructions: Wash all your produce. Chop and put into blender with a small amount of liquid to start. Add more as needed until you reach your desired consistency.

The original recipe called for 1/2 a cup of water, but I used Coconut Almond Milk instead :). I did however have to add quite a bit more to get it to blend up. Not sure if it was because of the frozen grapes, but it was extremely thick. It also had a very strong celery taste … which was kind of a bummer. I was hoping to be able to taste the grapes more
