Vegan Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

PB cookies

As always, I am searching for healthy alternatives that I can feed my growing boys for school snacks or after soccer practice.  Oh and it doesn’t hurt if I can eat them for a post gym workout snack either :)!  I came across these cookies today and just knew that I had to make them!

These little treats are soft, chewy and good for you too — Is that possible?!   As with most of my sweet treats, I add Essante ORGANICS  7.365pH Vanilla protein powder to increase the health benefits.

Modified from: 101 Cookbooks

Essante Protein Peanut Butter Cookies:
1 Cup Nut Butter*
3/4 Cup Agave Nectar
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 cup Almond Milk (soy or regular)
1 Tb Coconut Oil (optional)
3 Scoops Essante ORGANICS Vanilla Protein Powder
1 1/2 Cups Uncooked 5 Grain Oats Flour (use a blender to create flour)
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt

*I prefer to use the machines in the bulk section and make my own peanut butter — However, if you have the peanut butter with oil on top, you can omit the Coconut Oil from the recipe.

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325F degrees. Use a non stick pan, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or use a non-stick mat.

In a medium bowl, combine Essante ORGANICS protein powder, oat flour, baking soda and salt, then set aside.  In a large bowl, mix nut butter, agave, vanilla, almond milk and coconut oil by hand until well blended.  Pour the mixture of dry ingredients over the top of the wet and mix until just blended.  Do not over mix.  If dough is too soft to form into balls, chill for 10-15 minutes.

Roll dough into small balls and place on to a cookie sheet. Using the back of a fork, gently flatten each round ball. If fork becomes sticky, dip in cold water before flattening. Bake for 10-12 minutes until light golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before removing from sheet.

Makes about 30 cookies.

Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Essante ORGANICS Peanut Butter Protein Bars
I am always looking for healthy snacks and treats for my family and these little bars do just the trick! I first began making them, back when I promoted the Body by Vi Challenge.  They were quick and easy, plus my boys LOVED them!  Now that we are removing soy, whey and artificial sweeteners from our diets, I create these bars using the Essante ORGANICS  7.365pH Vanilla Shake Mix.  And boy are they YUMMY to the Tummy!

Essante Protein Peanut Butter Bars:
1.5 Cups Nut Butter*
1/4 Cup Organic or Local Honey
3 Scoops Essante ORGANICS 7.365pH Vanilla (or Chocolate Shake if you want Chocolate PB Bars!)
3/4 Cup Uncooked 5 Grain Oats
1/4 Cup Steel Cut Oats

*I prefer to use the machines in the bulk section and make my own peanut butter

Instructions:
Mix Peanut Butter and Honey in microwaveable safe bowl and soften in microwave for 45 seconds or so, just long enough to be able to thoroughly mix.  Add Essante ORGANICS Protein Shake Mix and remaining oats, one item at a time until mixed. Press on to a cookie sheet and form into a rectangle about 1/2″ thick. If needed, cover with wax paper and use rolling-pin to make smooth and even. Refrigerate 1 hr or until firm. Cut into 20 bars and refrigerate until ready to eat.

Feel free to modify these bars. You can easily add chopped nuts, coconut or dried fruit. Just reduce the oats and add your mix in’s!

Why Essante ORGANICS 7.365pH Shakes?

Essante 7.365pH Protein Shake
As many of you know, I previously promoted the Body by Vi 90 Day Health Challenge. And while great numbers of people had success on their weight loss products, there were those that did not — and I didn’t quite understand “why?”.   Then there were other potential customers who were hesitant to join because of the whey, soy or sucralose that are in the Vi Shakes, which for many are valid concerns.  It doesn’t take long to find many articles on-line that speak of the dangers of sucralose; although for every one bad, there are others touting the benefits.  I however, am just not willing to jeopardize my life, or that of friends and family, to promote a product that is not the best or safest product available on the market.  Would you?

I love the 2 shakes a day meal plan, it works great for me and allows me to lose weight without giving up the foods I love.  French fries and ice cream to name a couple!  I want to be able to enjoy life (and eat the foods I love) but at the same time, I want to live life as long as possible — which means I need to let go of some of the bad — ok, a lot of the bad!  But with so many chemicals and toxins all around us, and in everything we consume, where was I to start?  The simplest place for me, was with my protein shakes.

After researching many different options I found Essante ORGANICS.  All of their products are Organic, 100% Chemical Free, and Toxic Free. The Essante ORGANICS 7.365pH shake is created from a High-Quality Vegan Protein formulated and proven to accelerate weight loss,  and has all of the nutrition our bodies need to create a healthy pH. I never realized pH (Potential Hydrogen) was important —  to be honest, I really didn’t know what pH was!   Isn’t that just for checking pool chlorine levels?  Apparently, it is sooo much more! Did you know that if you have a healthy pH it is impossible for disease to live?  I didn’t!

According to the Consumer Health Organization, we need Alkaline pH levels to live a healthy life and alkalizing is our bodies way to move from an acidic state toward a pH balanced one.  Just like an aquarium without the proper pH balance is hazardous to the fish, improper pH is hazardous to the human body.  The proper pH for humans is 7.365.  Viruses, bacteria, disease and even fat cells tend to thrive in a more acidic environment.  Essanté ORGANICS 7.365 pH Shake is perfectly alkalized and pH balanced so each time you enjoy a shake, you are helping your body become pH balanced.  By balancing the pH level in your body, you create a foundation for optimal health and increased energy.

Are you ready to make the change to an All Natural, Organic, Wild Crafted, Soy Free, Whey Free, Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Protein Shake that contains No Chemicals or Additives? If so, click HERE  to learn more about what makes Essante ORGANICS 7.365 so special!

Ready to Work Out?

I’m not sure I am! I have talked about joining a gym for years, but always talk myself out of it. Just seems like a lot of money for something that I am pretty sure I wont use. Last year, I bought an elliptical runner. I love it, just don’t have the motivation to use it. I wasnt seeing the type of physical transformation that I was really hoping to achieve. Maybe I wasnt doing it right, or long enough, or something …

The goal for my Transformation Challenge is lose 10 pounds and drop body fat a couple of points. It’s a pretty hefty goal for me, and I am really going to need to commit to make it happen. So I finally took the plunge and now my hubby and I are one step closer to being gym junkies! We have OFFICIALLY joined Planet Fitness, LOL! Of course, we havent been there yet to work out … but baby steps, right?! Hey, we did go bowling yesterday and I almost broke triple digits a couple of times. Ok, so I capped out around 75, but I’m sure I burned at least 10 calories…

To be honest, I am really looking forward to going to they gym. I like the way I feel after a good work out. For me it is really more of a time commitment issue. I need to schedule time for ME during the day. Maybe I will go to the gym tomorrow…

A New Year … A New Way of Life

With every new year there is always change … and this year is no exception for the Hooper house.  This blog is my way to be accountable for the big changes my family and I will be incorporating into our busy lifestyle over the next 12 months — and will likely be entertainment for those of you who follow along!

This year our challenge is to Go Green.  Dont get me wrong, I recycle, reuse, and never have fewer than 10 fabric sacks with me at anyone time — but this year we plan to gradually incorporate organic, raw and chemical free items along with healthy living alternatives into our life and household.

These changes wont be easy and I’m sure we’ll have our ups and downs … but if we can do it — so can you!   Join me and my family of 4 in our year-long quest to live healthy, green, and organic on a one family income, in a two income world.
