Day 25 : Green Smoothie Challenge

Kale Citrus Detox Green Smoothie

So I’m a day late on Day 25 … Life was a bit hectic yesterday and I just didn’t have the time to squeeze in my smoothie.  Ok, well — I didn’t miss out much.  Nothing special about this green smoothie in my opinion.  I did mix with Coconut Almond milk and used Spinach instead of Kale, but doubt that would make a difference.  Not bad … but not likely one I would make again.  On a more positive note … tomorrows green smoothie looks YUMMY!!!

Day 20 : Green Smoothie Challenge

Sweet Leafy Green Smoothie

Looks like the Coconut Green Smoothies just weren’t all I had hoped they would be… Today’s smoothie was more a banana smoothie with a hint of lime.  I only used banana and even added extra coconut in hopes that it would affect the flavor, but no luck.  I did notice that by freezing the coconut I did not have the chunks like I had encountered with the two previous green smoothies here and here  — so that was nice.

Day 19 : Green Smoothie Challenge

Peachy Green Smoothie

Bummed again about today’s green smoothie :(.   I was really looking forward to a coconut smoothie — something tropical to remind me of a beach somewhere and not these freezing temperatures we have been experiencing lately …  Instead it was an overabundance of lime with chunks of coconut?  Which is strange since I only put in 1/2 a lime and used some majorly sweet Red Haven Peaches that I froze last summer.   These are the yummiest, sweetest, juiciest peaches in the world! I can’t wait for summer…

Day 18 : Green Smoothie Challenge

Coconut Kale Green Smoothie

So, I am really bummed about todays green smoothie :(.  I was so excited to have fresh coconut, though it was a pain to open,  but you couldn’t taste it??  The banana flavor over powered the coconut — and I even used Coconut Almond Milk.  I feel like I added the calories, sugar and fat from the coconut with out enjoying the benefits.  Oh well, there is always tomorrow with Peaches and Coconut!!!

Day 16 : Green Smoothie Challenge

Tropical Detox Smoothie

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed in this one…  It didn’t taste “tropical” at all?  Maybe my mango wasn’t sweet enough, I don’t know…  It could also have to do that I left the skin on the mango  — not something I would recommend, at least not if you are using a Ninja! The skin would not liquify, so it was a very “chewy” green smoothie, more like the Pineapple Healing Clense  on Day 1 of the Green Smoothie Challenge.  I used kale for my greens and Coconut Almond Milk for my liquid.  The recipe did say not to use milk, however I was hopeful the Coconut in the milk would enhance the “tropical” flavor … that unfortunately was not the case :(.
